Pediatric Foot Care

Gentle, thorough foot assessments for children in Vaughan and Maple. Our chiropodists evaluate flat feet, in-toeing, warts, growing pains, and other pediatric foot concerns.

Why Pediatric Foot Care Matters

Children's feet are still growing and developing, which means foot problems at a young age can affect posture, gait, and overall comfort as they grow. Early assessment by a chiropodist can identify issues that may need treatment — or provide reassurance that development is on track.

At Foot Forward Clinic, we create a comfortable, welcoming environment for young patients. Our chiropodists take the time to explain findings to both parents and children in a way that is easy to understand.

Common Pediatric Foot Conditions

Flat feet (pes planus)
In-toeing or out-toeing gait
Growing pains in feet and legs
Plantar warts
Ingrown toenails
Heel pain (Sever's disease)
Toe walking
Skin and nail concerns

When to Bring Your Child In

Consider booking a pediatric foot assessment if your child:

  • Complains of foot, heel, or leg pain regularly
  • Trips or falls more than other children their age
  • Walks with feet turning noticeably inward or outward
  • Has warts on their feet that are not resolving
  • Has toenails that appear ingrown or painful
  • Avoids physical activities due to foot discomfort

Our Approach

Thorough Assessment

We perform a complete lower limb assessment including gait analysis, joint range of motion, and foot structure evaluation — all conducted in a gentle, child-friendly manner.

Personalized Treatment

Depending on findings, treatment may include stretching exercises, footwear recommendations, custom orthotics, or monitoring. We involve parents in every step of the plan.

Wart & Nail Treatment

For plantar warts and ingrown toenails, we use gentle techniques appropriate for younger patients to resolve the issue with minimal discomfort.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no minimum age for a chiropody assessment. If your child is experiencing foot pain, tripping frequently, or you notice their feet turning in or out, an evaluation is appropriate. We commonly see children from ages 3 and up.
